Relyon Pillows – Comfort, Support & Lasting Quality

Relyon has built its reputation on creating pillows that combine comfort, durability, and breathability. Their designs make use of natural latex, a material known for its supportive feel and long-lasting resilience, and they’re available in a wide selection of sizes, heights, and firmness levels to suit every type of sleeper.

Engineered for Restful Sleep
Latex naturally contours to your head and neck, helping to ease pressure and reduce the chance of waking with stiffness or pain. Small air channels within the pillow allow air to circulate freely, preventing heat build-up so you can stay cool and comfortable through the night. Unlike many synthetic pillows, Relyon latex keeps its spring and structure year after year.

Options for Every Preference
Because everyone sleeps differently, Relyon offers a range of firmness levels—soft, medium, and firm—as well as varying thicknesses. Side sleepers may benefit from a higher profile for extra shoulder support, while back sleepers often find slimmer pillows more comfortable. This variety ensures that there’s a tailored option for all sleeping styles.

Durability You Can Rely On
One of the key strengths of Relyon pillows is their ability to retain both comfort and support over time. Where traditional pillows may flatten or need replacing after a few months, latex maintains its shape, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

The Advantage of Talalay Latex
Many Relyon pillows are crafted using Talalay latex, a premium version of natural latex often praised as one of the best sleep materials available. It is hypoallergenic, resistant to dust mites, and eco-friendly, as it’s derived from renewable rubber trees. Its open-cell structure allows for superior ventilation, ensuring a consistently cool sleeping surface.

The Talalay manufacturing method is also distinctive: liquid latex is placed in a mould, the air is extracted, and the mould is rapidly frozen to lock in structure. After being infused with carbon dioxide, it is gently baked, resulting in a breathable, supportive foam that feels both soft and resilient. This process creates a pillow that provides balanced comfort and long-term durability.

This is THE question! Is the Relyon Pillow really any good? And, the answer is YES!

We sell a lot of pillows, from well known brands to budget friendly brands that you might find in your local supermarket.  Relyon is not the most expensive pillow we have seen, but without a shadow of a doubt it is the best! We know, we been using our current ones for more than 5 years and it the best purchase we have made. I was also looking at reviews of these Relyon pillows on websites like Amazon. It’s obvious they are the best pillow on the market and rebranding has not taken anything away.

Why?

Well my late father always raved on about Dunlopillo mattresses and how they were the only mattresses that helped his back. Having done mostly manual jobs for most of his life, his back always needed TLC.  So, I bought the Relyon pillows (by then Dunlopillo had gone in to administration, but Relyon – who made the pillow for Dunlopillo pillows, bought the rights to manufacture the same pillow under the Relyon brand name)

I used to suffer from a lot of trapped nerves in my shoulders, back and neck pain as I used to spend a lot of time in my car for my work, so I switched pillows and somehow it helped almost instantly.  Within a few months, most of my pain had gone, simply because my aches and pains could recover overnight.

Now I don’t do so much driving but I would not give up my pillow. It is so comfortable that I even take it with me on weekends away!

Top marks for this pillow all the way.

History of Dunlopillo/Relyon

A lot of people get confused between Relyon and Dunlopillo and whether they are the same thing. Numerous forums on Facebook and other sites ask the question.

So, here’s the low down.

  • 1940s: The first Dunlopillo latex mattresses were created.
  • 2002: The Dunlopillo UK and Ireland consumer business and brand were sold to the Swedish bedding firm Hilding Anders.
  • 2008: The company that had retained the Dunlopillo brand overseas went into liquidation.
  • 2013: The international company Steinhoff International purchased the Dunlopillo brand in the UK from Hilding Anders.
  • 2016: After the acquisition, Steinhoff UK relaunched the Dunlopillo brand, alongside Slumberland, and Relyon and invested in expanding its bed  and pillows factories to meet increased demand. The Relyon factory in Wellington made the Dunlopillo mattress and Dunlopillo pillows all under the Dunlopillo brand
  • 2020: Following Steinhoff International’s collapse, Dunlopillo and Relyon were acquired from administration by Michco 2001 Ltd, a new company set up by former Relyon Group CEO Ian Topping. The new company kept acquired the Dunlopillo brand name for mattresses but we not able to acquire the brand name for the pillows. Nevertheless, they continued to make the latex pillows to the same exacting standards as previous, using the same materials and craftmanship and made in the same factory but rebranded the pillows as Relyon.
  • Today: In the UK, Dunlopillo mattresses is part of the Relyon group and remains a prominent brand for natural latex mattresses. Ownership of the brand is fragmented in other parts of the world, including the Pikolin group and John Cotton Group Europe, which owns the rights in 12 countries in Central Europe.
